The Recovery Recognition Awards 2024

Congratulations to all of the winners and nominees from this year’s Recovery Recognition Awards!

Essex Recovery Foundation was extremely pleased to bring back the Recovery Recognition Awards which looks to celebrate people within the recovery community in Essex.

One award in particular was created to acknowledge the hard work of people within the drug and alcohol workforce. We had a huge number of nominations for this category and it was an incredibly difficult task to select the winners.

We are pleased to share that four people in the workforce are recipients of a Recovery Recognition Award for their outstanding work within services. They are: Tracey Elliot, Dev Belir, Della White and Marie Edmonds.

We were thrilled to visit our award winners in their workplaces this month to present them with their award.

Congratulations to you all - you are amazing!

You can read more about what their nominees had to say about them below:

Tracey Elliot

“Tracey is an amazing lady with so much potential, she has been on a journey in her recovery and shows the importance of lived experience when working with our clients. She is caring, compassionate and non judgmental and is a massive help to me personally improving the lives of our service users and promoting recovery.”

Dev Belir

“Dev is on his own recovery journey but has since become a huge part of the recovery community, working in Open Road having started as a volunteer only a year and a half ago he has now become a senior recovery worker and continues to inspire those in addictive addiction to achieve as he has.”

Della White

“I see her at Dovercourt Park Pavilion on a Monday, even though my file should be closed at Phoenix. It is a small group of clients, but she gives us the full group experience and I know it's highly valued by us in the Harwich area, where there is little to no provision of services.

Seeing her on a Monday sets me up for the week ahead and is an absolute cornerstone of my recovery. She has lived experience and we are close in age, so we have walked a lot of the same path. She is straight down the line… and says it how it is, which suits me. I feel she is invested in her clients recovery and that I could text her anytime. I would love to see her recognised with an award."

Marie Edmonds

“Marie is the founder of aspirations charity, that has different branches in the recovery sector making a huge difference to people in Southend and surrounding areas. She has been there every step of the way encouraging me and reassuring colleagues. She is an incredible women who has touched so many life’s and continues to help others even when going through her own personal difficulties”

We will be seeing Marie soon to present her with her award.
