Snowdon Expedition

The Essex Recovery Foundation Community Engagement team are in the unique position to be able to offer community members an opportunity to take part in the Snowdon Expedition on 7th-9th June 2024.

We’re now accepting applications for a space on this weekend activity to Wales where accommodation, food and transport will be included. Please read below for all of the details.

Spaces on this expedition are limited, so names will be drawn out of a hat on recorded video. Each participant must be able to raise a minimum sponsorship of £50 which will go towards a contribution for the trip.  Those applying for a place must be of good physical fitness due to the challenges involved in this spectacular climb and be able to declare medically fit to take part.

You need to be available from 9am on Friday 7th June 2024 until 5pm on Sunday 9th June 2024 for the expedition.

There will be a in-person meet up on Friday 12th April 2024 and Friday 10th May 2024 between 9am and 5pm which will involve a walk, a talk about gear required, expected weather conditions and to answer any questions you may have. You must be able to make both of these dates.

Shared accommodation is provided so you must be comfortable sleeping in a room with other community members. Food will also be included, but everyone must be prepared to help with cooking and cleaning up afterwards.

It will be a real team event.

Up for the challenge? Express your interest now! The deadline to apply is Thursday 15th March.

For those unsuccessful in securing a place on this activity weekend or are unavailable due to other commitments, a similar activity will take place in September 2024.
