We are also offering multiple new groups for clients including a book club, women’s group, breakfast club, relapse prevention group and art group, with lots of new groups on the way.

Gratitude:

Open Road Colchester would like to show our appreciation for our Targeted Recovery Worker Stevie Ainsworth for his hard work, working with clients through the entire rehab application process and managing to secure 4 client’s detox and rehab admissions. Well done Stevie and thank you for all of your hard work!

Breaking the stigma surrounding employing those in recovery

Open Road’s dedicated IPS Employment Specialists are working hard to break the stigma surrounding employing those in recovery. Research suggests that getting back into work can be a vital part of recovery. Covering Essex, Southend, and Thurrock, our team of dedicated IPS Employment Specialists work alongside Drug and Alcohol Recovery services, helping service users gain competitive employment. Not only do our team provide 1-2-1, time-unlimited, intensive support for those in recovery, but our approach is person-centred, and adapted to each client’s specific needs. We can provide support regarding benefits claims, building CVs, and much more. Following the Individual Placement and Support approach, our Employment Specialists are passionate about getting their clients a role that they want. Meaning we won’t stick you in any old job!

Our team of IPS Employment Specialists also engage with local employers to find out their business needs. The team aim to make meaningful connections with employers and training providers in their area, explaining the benefits of hiring our clients, or upskilling them to help them achieve their employment goals. Each IPS Employment Specialist also offers In Work Support for both the client and the employer, ensuring a smooth onboarding process, and keeping our clients happy at work. In addition to working with a client’s employer, we will also work alongside any other relevant professional in their lives, such as DWP workers, recovery workers, and many more! Our aim is to empower individuals on their recovery journey, helping them find meaningful work, and reach their goals.
