“In my shoes”: An EYPDAS Practitioner

Written by Charlotte Driscoll

An EYPDAS Practitioner in North Essex for Children’s Society

“The cliché of ‘every day is different’ really applies to my role. I deliver 1-1 and group interventions and spend my days attending schools, conducting community sessions and home visits. I love how varied it is- there is never a dull moment. I also deliver the EYPDAS Recovery Pathway Group alongside my colleagues- this is our 18-24 virtual prorgamme. Pictured is me with one of the therapy dogs at a school I attend- another great thing about my job!

I have worked for The Children’s Society for 10 years, most of which within the EYPDAS team. What I love about my work is the great conversations and ‘penny drop’ moments I get to experience with young people. Young people really are brilliant!  I have a great team around me, my colleagues have such broad knowledge- so no matter what the predicament- one of them will have the solution.

Away from work I love being outdoors spent with my little blind dog- who spends most of our walks being carried!”
